when you use this stuff can you put it under the motherboard? and does using this raise the case temp at all?

I don't know about putting it under a mobo, I'd think it depends what materials are used to make it (the absorbtion material). Using it in your case will definitley raise temps as the case essentially acts as a giant heat sink.
