in windows 98 second edition how can I access the Network Neighborhood if the icon is not showing on the desktop.

thanks in advance......

From what I remeber, Network Neighbourhood appears when u have a network installed. You can always use \\compname or \\ipaddress in the run command.

i think in order to have "network neighborhood" appear on the desktop you need "Client for Microsoft Netoworks" configured in then Network control panel applet. The option will be in a dropdown menu under the words "Primary Network Login" once you open the network applet. once you add the "client for microsoft networks" you will get the thing on the desktop

im not 100% sure but im pretty sure this is how it appears if i remember correctly

Can't you also insert the XP disk into that machine and perform some kind of networking update?

Been a while since I checked that out.

Yep, that's right. ;)

Say everything needed is installed and the icon is on the desktop the question is:

are there any options available to access network neighborhood aside from the icon on the desktop?

thanks for the inputs......

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
