? about apc batt backup

when the pc and monitor plugged into it, and the pc and monitor off, and theres a surge... the apc still protects it right?

this is probably a stupid question.. but im new to batt backups..

my APC has six plugs, all being surge protected, three of them being backup.

so anything plugged into the unit is surge protected. anything plugged into one of the three will stay on as long as it can.
