Abit KR7A and Alpha 8045 HSF

Does anybody out there have an Alpha 8045 HSF on their Abit KR7A MB ?? Those capacitors look awful close to the socket. I have a KG7 Raid and, I am wanting to upgrade to the KR7A but want to use the Alpha 8045 as it keeps my 1700+ XP way cool !

I don't know about the ABIT board you're looking at. I've got the KT7-Raid and it was so tight plugging in the CPU and heatsink/fan that i thought I was going to break something. I made a silent vow to never remove the thing. Your observation is very accute... it was the capasitors that were to close to the socket.

Actually, the CPU slid right in, but for pete's sake, it's an Athlon... you gotta attach a car radiator in there somewheres.

Hey EP! All good with me, applying for Microsoft MVP right now, should have done this a while ago.

Notifications don't work, I only found your response by coming back to hunt up some threads, if you want, give me your email address so we can keep in touch easier!

EP, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there!
