ok. im really lost. ive already discovered that i need to send back this video card because it lags and skips in game on my computer. i swapped cards with my friend and it does the same in his comp. then, i got home. tried his card and its still doing it in my comp. ive updated ALL the drivers that i can on this comp and tried changing every setting possibly. during games the picture skips and lags. anything im not doing?

might be a driver related issue ?

did you completely uninstall your old drivers before installing your new card ?

I had a similar problem with video card anomalies using the A7N8X Deluxe Rev 1.04 and my GF3[Ti Series] (this worked fine on my A7A266 board). I switched over to 44.03 Detonators (current Official Nvidia Release) from Betas and now I've not had a problem.

could it possibly be that when i updated to service pack 1 when i restarted after like 6 minutes sitting on the windows xp screen i shut it?

possibly. i'd try a fresh reformat before you say you've tried everything. :)

but before that, try reinstalling directx 9.0b.

just formated and updated everything. i havent updated to dx9 yet and it seems to be working fine so far. i think ill just stick with 8 since all i do is play cs, no real need for it. and it seems to be working fine for now. *crosses fingers*

your previous experience really shouldn't make you afraid to update drivers and software. besides, if you update directx, for instance, and the problem comes back, then we know what causes it and can help you find a solution. ignoring a potential problem and tip-toeing around it isn't a very good idea. i'm sure whatever the problem was was an isolated event caused by one time when a driver didn't install right or something. you will probably never experience it again.

aside from that, directx is more than just for games... it affects the videos you watch, the devices you have plugged into the computer, as well as network traffic. the newer directx version, the better.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
