A good download manager

I have the same problem with star

flashget I don't like, as it limits downloads in que...star free has no restrictions

I've been using Net Transport for quite sometime now. No complaints here.

Getright wins for me. www.getright.com Even has a mirrors service, scan files when downloaded with your virus scanner, pings to keep alive connection, splits files for faster downloading, is always free once registered whatever build, 1.xx, 2.xx, 3.xx 4.xx, 5.xx etc.....Just added latest final release to front page b.t.w.

Oh wow...it's a newbie thread by me from April 2002!

I don't use a download manager anymore (shows how old this thread is), but I do remember that Net Transport was a good app.

When I first looked at the post.. I was like woah! NetRyder asking for a download manager? Then checked the date and I was laughing. You should see my newbie threads.. they're kinda funny too.

I have broadband, and I still rely on download managers.

mostly for que...I don't like deviding up my bandwidth too many times...when I'm downloading a bunch of files, I just click and go...IO have the manager set to only allow one dl at a time...

I've had dozens of dl's in que while I surf...this is very nice

NetRyder,
Ive been using this one for awhile now without a hitch. http://www.reget.com
No spyware or adware or such.
I believe theres a trial version. You would have to double check me on that though.

well you can start by NOT using download accelerator plus (DAP) it has adwares spybot always detected it so i switched to getright... that was on my old computer right now i dont use a dl manager

Free Download Manager .. http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

And I agree that Net Transport is Awesome. I been using it for over a year now. The only thing with it though is that it isn't free .. Anymore that is ..

Thing I like about Reget is you still decide whether or not the application grabs the download. If you hold ALT while clicking on download link it will download file but if not then it does not even start up.
Yes, Reget does not run in the system tray all the time like Getright does.

net transport is pretty damn good! Its the only one other than reget that I'm aware of supporting https and streaming media.

Even with broadband you will benefit from a download manager that threads otherwise you have wasted resources - a single connection can only download so fast..

yeah, i just donated to net transport though cos they were offering me the whole deal for £11 :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
