A few network things..

I've just setup a network and on the client PC I'm getting 10-15 more ping then I did without the network, also for surfing the web I need to click enter a few times for the site to load.
I understand that the network will take some of my connection speed up but I have mates who run 3 or 4 people on their network and they all get the same ping (with or without) the network up.

p.s both PC's running XP and sharing a 512k ADSL.

Have you got 10/100Mb network cards ?

is your network a fast ethernet ?

If you are using ICS, doing things on the gateway PC will slow things down. Like playing games or something. This will take some processor time away from the ICS routing. That may increase your ping times
