9800XT cooling

ok, so the noise from my computer is getting on my nerves quite a bit now, so i'm ordering a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Ultra-Quiet CPU Cooler for the cpu and i was gonna order the Zalman ZM80C-HP + ZM-OP1 Optional Fan Package but i want to know if it will cool the card enough. I used a zalman cooler on my last cpu and it was awesome (dad's using it now in his comp) so i know zalman products are good, i'm just not sure if that's a good enough cooler for the graphics. space might also be an issue inside, hopefully they will both fit!

If CNPS7000 (Zalman's noiseless CPU cooler) is also to be installed, the CPU retention guide needs to be 35mm or farther away from the AGP slot for this product to be installable.

It says that on the site you linked near the bottom. Should help with the space issues 😉

Looks an awesome cooler. I too have a Flower on my CPU and it rocks! (not literally 😛)
If the build & cooling quality of that is anything to go by, then the GPU cooler looks a
good buy 😀

i was looking into that heatink a while back and found a review where they strapped it onto a 9800pro or 9800xt. it was adequate at stock speeds, but overclocking didn't seem to go well. but they didn't have that optional fan which i'm sure would've fixed that.

I bought a Coolmaster heatsink for my 9700pro the other day.
Its massive!!
Shame the GPU's shot on the damn thing, savin up for a 9800xt now.
Anybody know if ATI plan to release a better card anytime soon?

What do you think of that a a cpu cooler i currently have got the themalright slk800a and thinking of going over to that zalman as i have now overclocked my barton to a 3200+ from 2500+ 😀

ok thanks i'll go for it then, and this may seem a stupid question, but can i use arctic silver 5 on the gpu instead of the stuff that comes with it coz i still have some AS5 left...

yes.. you can use as5..

overclockers need to use the fan which is practically noiseless in order to keep temps acceptable...

and for lockstock.. Loki should be out soon in both agp 8x and pci-ex flavors.

On the subject of cooling what ramsinks do people use ? I have a powercolor 9800 non pro and gonna flash it to the pro but because of the naff infuron ram i think it will need ram sinks to do it..
