8pe667 ultra sound problem?

I've looked around in many different places but have not found anything conclusive about my problem. The onboard sound on my mobo is 'jagged' at best, sometimes cutting out completely. I sent the comp for the service guys to check it out and they said it appeared to be some kind of 'buffering' problem. This gave me the idea to reduce the directsound acceleration slider in the advanced audio properties to 'basic', which made the problem better, but it never went away. Did anyone else with this board have the same problem, or is it just mine?

I see the sound is provided by the Realtek ALC650 AC'97 audio CODEC chip have you tried the latest drivers from Gigabyte (i presume you would have) if so try the very latest drivers from Realtek themselves... get them HERE ....they are only 2 days old !.

Yeah ive tried both the drivers from the Gigabyte support site and also from the realtek downloads site. I think ill just use a different sound card and disable the onboard one.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
