in Abit's summary page for the NF7-S (nforce2), they list:

5bit FID (Frequency ID)
By ABIT 5-bits FID Override technology, users can get variety of CPU over-clocking sets.

anyone know anything about this? from what i can tell, it seems to have the ability to override the cpu multiplier via bios?

A couple other things we added were 5-bit Frequency ID (5-bit FID) This overclocker friendly FSB allows the FSB multiplier to be adjusted from 5-21. Other motherboards use a 4-bit FID, meaning the FSB multiplier can only be adjusted from 3-13, resulting in higher possible overclocks on the FSB

This board is going to rock, but I don't feel like heading on over to AMD, considering my p4 system is nearly done. :)

ah, okay. thanks.

yeah, i'm seriously considering getting the non-S version for about $100. i was originally in the market for a budget kt333 board for a project, but the NF7 is only about $30 more.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
