2 strange things in XP

#1
that recently showed up.

1.) My computer icon I originally setup to show tiles but every time I reboot they go to "list". My other folders that I have setup up to view as TILE remain the unchanged.
2.) My "Status" bar for Recycle bin doesn't stay shown I have to keep selecting "Status" each time I open up the Recycle Bin.

This may help: By default XP remembers only 400 folder settings. After that it is first in, first out. You can increase this number by adding a D-Word called BagMRU Size with the value 000003e8 (or decimal 1000) to these registry keys
1:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell
2:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam

Open Explorer (not internet explorer) and set it up the way you want it. Tiles, status bar, etc. Then under "tools" select "folder options". Select "view" tab. Click "apply to all folders".

Good info from yoyo as well.

When you follow xiforce's advice, at the same time you need to go to Folder Options - View - and put a tick in "Remember Each Folder's View Settings". Then check "Apply To All Folders"
