2 of everything

Why do i get two messages of everything in my inbox when i do a send and receive? i use firefox and have two user profiles on the machine, and 3 email accounts. for each account there are always two of every message...

yes it does but still using outlook for emial etc

Sounds very familiar, but can't remember what causes it.
I think it happens when you have the inbox automatically receive emails from the server while, at the same time as it's receiving those emails, you click on the inbox to view them.

well it only happens when i do a send/receive.. so it is set to only receive when i press send/receive...

did you set one email program to leave the messages on the server when sending and receiving?

another possibility that you'd be pretty dumb not to know you had done is if you had an email account forwarding mail and were picking it up from that account also (IE had two accounts configured in your mail client with one forwarding to the other) I just thought i would throw that one in as I have had that happen to me when testing something (IE I did it on purpose!)

checked for this and was not set to leave a copy on the server..

well i am pretty dumb.. at least with computing.. novice remember.. but i dont think this is the case cos i have 3 accounts and the settings are all the same.. do if i had done that i would be getting 3 of everything, no?

What is the mail protocol that you configured through Outlook? IMAP, POP3, HTTP?

the "account type" is POP3.. is that the same thing?
