I have two identical 19" LCDs. Is it possible to replace one with a 24" and use those two out of the box or make them work with very little work?

Most definitely, get yourself a program called Ultramon, will help you

... and both monitors can have differing resolutions and all features available to them even if the other doesn't?

Yes, I have that now, a 22" widescreen and 19" standard, they run fine together

windows supports doing that out of the box. Ultramon will give you peer screen wallpaper and a per-screen taskbar.

Linux is a bit more tricky, though Ubuntu 8.04 has new tools relating to this so if you're looking into Linux I'd keep an eye on that.

Yeah, I'd primarily be using it on Linux. Hopefully the tools 8.04 gives doesn't make me jump through hoops.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
