Did you guys read the fine print? requires cat 5 wiring inside the home....hmm time to call the father inlaw.

Already done in my house, when we moved in the telecommunications wiring was old and delapidated, so I manually replaced it all with CAT5 - the quality is excellent :D

I have Fios here in Florida, I have the 5/5 business package (5 Mbps up and down) with 5 static Ip address for $208 a month. It is such great of a service I have started a fourm dedicated to the Fios world here at http://www.myfios.net

Cheers

oh cool. im waiting for fios to come here. i want their home plan thats 15mps for $50.

So do I rub the fact that I just have to walk to work to get 100mbps and that should the unlikely happen and I get the router passwords I can download at 2gbps, and that should that occur within the next 3-6 months that will be 16gbps??

And all 10 minutes away from my house :D

your lucky LordOfLA. I would be happy to get the 15Mbps fios deal myself but just have to wait till they get here

I have been running a 5Mbit line for a while and am pretty damn happy with it.

Can't imagine why I would need something that fast, unless i do a heck of a lot of downloading ;)

Dang that's fast... The fastest I've seen is when I was living in the dorms and was able to get on the universities ethernet connection. It wasn't constant (for obvious reasons), but sometimes at night I could get 700 Kbps (though that BW was synchronous)... Was a bit slower during the day, aka when people came in to work and there was more load on the network...

Oh, and as to what one could do with it...give it some time. There was a time people weren't sure what could be done with a broadband connection at home :D

That is the funny thing. You are going to see all these AOL newbie computer geek wannabee's with their 3,000.00 computers getting it. Now, instead of having to learn how to turn the pc on they will have to learn how to run through an ethernet port. That is even if they know what that is.

The good part is that all these idiots are going to be paying people like you and me lots and lots of money to fix their problems. Even if it is only turning the machine on for them lol ......

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
