Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

I HAVE IT!!!!!! Like Moonwraith said, there is _no_ way of turning the onboard video off in the BIOS setup, and if you deactivate the onboard video in hardware manager and deinstall its driver, the blasted thing will reappear automatically during the next boot. The only way to get rid of it is...

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

I think I have one of those guru motherboards, Steevo, though I've un-installed the onboard video drivers and disabled the hardware in device manager as you suggest. In my BIOS setup all I can see about video or graphics is under "Advanced System Configuration", where it says "Graphics Aperture"...

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

Okay, I've moved the graphics card to PCI slot 2, and for the first time I am actually getting a signal from the card's port to my monitor. The first thing it says while booting is Verto FX5200 graphics card 128MB Ram - but then when it comes to the windows Welcome screen the monitor goes blank...

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

I just figured out how to run two monitors, Moonwraith, and I tried your suggestion but I'm afraid it didn't work. Again, all I get from the monitor running on the card's port is a very faint dark blue screen with a black bar at the bottom.

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

Okay, I got the Sisoft Sandra and it says I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Mainboard (is that the same as a motherboard?), no MP support, Model D1450, Version S26361-D1450, Serial No. 10482810. The computer I have is a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo 400P, 2.0 Ghz Celeron, 256 Mb DDR-SDRam. The BIOS I am...

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

I thought of doing that, but can't figure out how to run dual monitor.:yowch: This is so weird - my display properties actually says "Display: Standard monitor with Nvidia Geforce Fx5200". But the monitor is not plugged into the card, just into its normal old port...

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

I'm afraid I don't have a mobo manual... but I have deactivated the onboard intel video card by using device manager... would that amount to the same thing? If not, are there any generic instructions for deactivating onboard video in BIOS?

Is my graphics card working? I don't know...

Can anyone help me? After buying a new Verto FX5200 graphics card for my PCI slot (I don't have an AGP slot) I don't know if it is working or not... When I plug my monitor into the card's port the monitor is just blank (with a very faint blue bar at the bottom). But when I plug it...

My new graphics card doesn't fit! Help!

It doesn't say anything about PCI express on the card's box, just "For use with AGP and PCI slots". But this thing would end up hanging out the back of my computer if I were to ram it in there... not that I would do that, of course

My new graphics card doesn't fit! Help!

As you can see from the screenshot I posted above, it has an L-shaped hook like you say. But it says "for use with AGP or PCI slots" on the box. Really! Is there no card which will fit my old slots anymore?

My new graphics card doesn't fit! Help!

My digital camera isn't really up to it, but here's a screenshot of the card and the slots... the card's box says "For use with AGP or PCI slots"... my local computer shop told me the slots were PCI, but were old and no graphics cards use them anymore... is that true?

My new graphics card doesn't fit! Help!

I just bought a G-force FX5200 graphics card, and though it says PCI on the box it doesn't fit in my PCI slots! It's too big! Doh! :suprised: Are my PCI slots somehow antiquated? The computer was bought two years ago, Fujitsu, 2.0 Gig Celeron. If the PCI slots are antiquated, what kind of a...
