I installed avast and it found and cleaned a virus in my restore points. Nortons and McAffee both missed it. Maybe it was just luck that Avast found it but it made a believer out of me. By the way I also use AVG on other computers I own and it has worked very well also.

When this has happened to me, and it does happen a few times, I cleared out the temp file and defraged the hard drive. Then I rebooted and then wrote the disk. It would work fine after that. The reason was that the cd writing program will use the temp folder to store the files in before writing...

Also you may need the same program that was used for the pictures. Do you know what program was used.

I use Photoplus 5.5 from www.freeserifsoftware.com . The last time I looked at Gimp, it had alot of problems with windows. Worked ok with linux though.
