I use one of these and I mounted my HD in an old HD cage from a case. That way I never had to risk static shock and the cage was sturdy enough it protected it well.

if cheap and PCI express are your only criteria... look for boards made by BIOSTAR, PCCHIPS, ASRock, or ECS, but be warned, these boards have the highest return rates. My son works in a Computer store and he says probably 80% of the RMAs he processes are for boards made by these companies...

Q-Fan... isn't that an ASUS board? Disable Q-Fan and AMD's cool-n-quiet if you want max cooling at all times. Never enable both as they will not work well together. AMD's cool-n-quite will throttle your CPU speed, running slower when demand is light. Q-fan only controls fan speed based on temps...

I'm using the silencer on my 7800GTX OC and am very happy with it. I typically idle at around 40 degress with the silencer and the highest load temp I've seen has been 53. Plus, the silencer exhausts the hot air out of the case which can only be good.
