My old Nvidia 8800 ultra turned over and died on me and I have replaced it with a Nvidia285gtx from Asus.
My problem is that I am unable to see the taskbar, sides or top of the application windows and even the Vista Orb. Even by changing the resolution, the problem still occurs.

I eventually got around the problem by installing vista on my second HDD and reformatted the problem hard drive. A bit drastic but was all I could think of at the time.
I will be more careful during windows update in future!

Updated Vista yesterday and on restarting the computer it got to installing update 3 of 3 then keeps restarting.
