Hey All... I own this case , and the problem I am having is that were that mini-compartment is in front (where is says Antec) houses front panel USB/firewire ports. However, every now and again, when I go to plug in a USB device (camera, gamepad, etc), the port gets pushed in from it's...

    Gamepad Dillemma

Alright... I have been chugging along with a Gravis Gamepad Pro (USB) for a few years now. I have been struggling with needing to upgrade, because even though I am partial to the 4-button controller, I would like force feedback, more control. With that said, I have tried some out there: 1...

    DVD Time....

Hey All.. Ok. I think I am finally going to pony up some funds and delve into the world of getting a DVD drive for my rig. I have been chugging along with my Lite-On CDRW with no worries, but I have been getting friends of mine giving me data on DVD-ROMs that I cannot read/access with my...

Who Wants To Know How To Slim Down XP?

I just don't think I have the time to go through and manually delete al of this stuff. I mean, I can see the value in this email for those with 12GB hdds. We all know WinXP is bloated, and it's install is massive, but I can't find sitting in front of my PC for 30min-1hr manually deleting...

    Monitor Refresh Rate ???

Ok - I have come across an old 17" CompUSA monitor (CRT) from way back in the day. I say well over 4 years old, but it is still chuggin with no signs of wear at all. Now, the question - is there an app/method I can use to determine what the maximum refresh rate allowed on this monitor would...

Mobo drivers - Generally, Which Ones To Go For?

Ok. At the risk of sounding noobish, I just have to ask a question. For background. I have two rigs up right now. One is an Intel P4 based (Abit IS7-E mobo), and the other is an AMD Barton setup (Shuttle AN35N-Ultra mobo). Both mobos have onboard sound, nics, etc. The Abit mobo operates on...

    Do I need a Firewall?

Yes - You have to install them on both PCs. and when you install it both, ZAP will detect the network, and if it is giving you the static IP address for your network, you will have to make it a Trusted Network in order to share files back and forth.

    Suggestions on my new PC

Also, you may want to up the anty on the PSU. I am not sure 330w is going to do it for you. Again, if you overclock, the Asus P4C800 or Abit IC7/IS7 would be the ticket. You could soft-mod your 9800 to be a pro (search google for how to do that), but your PSU may jack you up at the wrong...

Hey All... I am running Windows XP Pro (SP1), and I am trying to get my Scanner (Canon Canoscan N670U) to automatically scan images and link to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer Application, but I can't seem to find the .exe? I have it set to Microsoft Photo Editor right now, but I don't want...

    Do I need a Firewall?

Your router ( I have that one as well) has inbound firewall protection, but does not protect in information going out (from your pc). Therefore, in the slight chance someone placed a trojan/executable on your rig that is providing them with all types of information, your router would not be...

    Power Supplies

The short answer would be yes. However, what you should be looking at is based on your CPU, and other components you will have in your rig to determine watts/voltage rails. I highly recommend Antec fans, and pick the wattage/voltage based on your components.
