Thanks people, I think I got it..........I took kcnychief's advice and downloaded Ms spyware Beta program. I already have Earthlink's spyware utility, but this is obviously more thorough and it appears it was a nasty little piece of spyware called "NewDotNet Browser Plug In" as it took two...

Don't know why its a thumbnail, but if you click on it then make it regular size it is quite clear.
