Wireless Ad-Hoc Network with No Internet?

A Google search yielded this: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Network_and_Internet/Misc__Server_Tools/Magik_DHCP_Server.html looks about like what I want. Buying a router is out of the question because this isnt anything I organize. The Microsoft way would be bad. Need I say more?

Wireless Ad-Hoc Network with No Internet?

Is there any way I could simlify the process by using DHCP? if you are just assigning a static IP, could you have a DHCP server dealing them out instead?

Wireless Ad-Hoc Network with No Internet?

This is a crazy idea I had that I have been trying to put into use. I have a Windows XP laptop with integrated wireless and a friend with integrated wireless. We would like to be able to form an ad-hoc wireless network in which there is no connection to the internet and play Starcraft (a...

    Asus Board to Blame?

Just to let you know, I am the original author of this post. I HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM! *WOOT* Turns out it was my power supply. I am a tightwad and had a .... 350W power supply which seems to have originally barely supplied enough power to the board but stopped supplying enough after about a...

    Asus Board to Blame?

That was actually the setting I found before and set. It can be set to a number between 100 and 400, and I set it to 100. THe problem still continued. I am going to get on the phone and ask for a replacement because it just shut down when I tried to go into the bios again, and while the power...

    Asus Board to Blame?

Well, that setting is the only related setting I can find. THe manual is available online at http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5VDC-MX/E2545_P5VDC-MX.pdf and its only a four megabyte file. I can't find the setting...

    Asus Board to Blame?

Well, I think I found it. There is a setting for CPU frequency that is set to auto. The manual says it can be set from 100 to 400. I think I remember seeing something about this mentioning that the cpu frequency times the cpu multiplier was the speed or something... what should I set it to?

    Asus Board to Blame?

I am fairly sure now that it is the mobo. I connected another power supply to check that, and that isn't it. I can't turn off the Ai NOS option (the bios doesn't support or ASUS wanted it that way). The overclocking problem confuses me though. Is it that the motherboard is failing to overclock...

    Asus Board to Blame?

Well, I just disconnected the hard drives (two of the three were still connected), and booted. It still doesn't work, but now I have a bios error to go on, which I saw before but didn't take note of. This board has a built in feature called Ai NOS which lets it overclock the processor when the...

    Asus Board to Blame?

I recently bought and installed an ASUS p5vdc-mx with an Intel Pentium 4 Dual Core 2.6 GHz processor. The installation was fine, and it ran for about a week. Now I will turn it on, it will start running like normal, there will be a click, the humming noise will lower in pitch (I think this is...

    Advanced Javascript redirect

I was wondering if there is a javascript code that can check to see if a webpage is somewhere and send you there if it it. The context is that I have a basic website running online now. I also have a linux webserver, but it doesn't run all day. I am trying to find a script that checks if there...

    Access Subdirectories in Apache 1.3.33

There was nothing saying what went wrong, but as an FYI I am currently reinstalling Apache, MySql and PHP4 from binary packages (MySQL from RPM) because all documentation is based on binary packages and not debian's port. THanks for your help, I'll post again soon.

    Access Subdirectories in Apache 1.3.33

Sorry, that doesn't seem to do it. If I put it at the top of the file, it says thats it's an invalid command, si I moved it to the bottom and it works but still asks to download the file instead of loading it. I just don't get it. I also had one other complication, and that is that, since I'm...

    Access Subdirectories in Apache 1.3.33

OK, I can now access subdirectories in my server. Now I have another problem. I'm trying to install the simple machines forum on it, and I have installed the debian libapache-mod-php4_4.3.10 file, but whenever I go to /finalforum/install.php to start the install, I get the option to download the...
