Arrow How to make a server out of a server
Here is the deal. I have a Compaq ProLiant 3000 series server with 2 Pentium III processors, about 4 gb of ram, and a little 8 gb hard drive. It has Win2k SP4. I want to know how to legally publish my web sites onto it. Do i need a special software? What does it take to set up the server? I got the server for free from a guy here in harrison. He said it was junk, but I proved him wrong.

You have all the legal things you need. Just do like carpo said and you are set. There are numerous references on line that will help you with regards to setting it up.

Doing a google search for "IIS" (without the quotes) will get you a lot of hits ...

Find out if your ISP TOS allows you to host a server. Some do not.
