Hi all

Got my server up and running again after the main hard drive failed
Now I have got a new problem which is nearly as annoying, I can not seem to access the shared folders across the network.

I set up the user accounts and everything correctly, and the Windows home server connector works fine, and I can also remote desktop into the server fine, but the shared folders are inaccessible from my pc, or from the server itself (when you try to browse to them through the network rather than just go to them on the disk)
I have installed all the updates from windows update, and tried googling but I can not find a solution

Any help will be much appreciated

have you added yourself to the list of allowed users to view the files/folders you want to share, and have you set the workgroup (or domain name) the same on all the pcs, also make sure if your using a firewall that thats not blocking you

Did you have the files encrypted or compressed? You may have lost the key file on the HD when the HD died. A new HD will create new keys which make the data inaccessible without the original key file.

No I have done neither of these either One weird thing is that sometime it works (but only for a little while).
Do you think it will help if I add it to my hosts file? or is that not the problem?

Fixed the issue, sorry to say it but it was Nod32's fault, the first time it has ever caused me any problems luckly all the software running on the server is all "trial" software. I have now changed to the beta avast home server antivirus and it has some nice features and seems to be running nicely. Unfortunatly they are not making a free version
