Get a hotfix without calling MS

Looks like Microsoft Support has finally wised up and made it easier to obtain those pesky hotfixes that you used to have to contact Microsoft for specifically.

While not completely publicly available, all that is needed is to fill out this form which sends an email back to you with a link to the requested hotfix.

not for the whole thing.. but you can get an updated vista kernel through KB 939720 which includes the file Ntoskrnl.exe

no, but there is a great fix... they call it XP

There is a way to get SP1 to show up on Windows Update by adding a couple of registry entries.

Downloading Windows Vista Service Pack 1 from Windows Updates

OK so it took near three hours, but it provided a patch in every language for every flavor of Windows!
