Do it on your own rig or a test box, I've done it more times than I can count when setting up our global sysprep image for the entire line of laptops/desktops. |

Why not use the Dell Installation and Management CD to install the Windows Server?
It is very similar to HP SmartStart and allows you to configure the server prior to the OS being installed. http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=142800 |

dells installer is called open manage and works the same as smart start for HP ... great to keep the latest version of that start disc handy at all times in an all dell env.

I would call Dell they have a bad habit of not sending the cd's you need to beg them for it.

I think I might be onto something. I found a CD in the box that the server came in. I didn't open the thing, so I didnt know that it came with it. I have a CD that works now, now I just need to burn the image of the OS! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EDIT: And it is up and running! Thank you for the idea on using the CD! |
