Hi, folks,

Is there any way to convert Outlook Express emails into text that can be searched with a word processor program or some other search engine? I know OE has limited search capability using author and subject, but I would like to be able to search the entire message for key words or phrases.

I believe Windows Desktop Search will index the messages for you, give it a shot.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I took so long to get back to the forum.

Windows Desktop Search doesn't seem to work for what I want. I would like something that will search the content of emails for specific subjects or words or phrases. Many times the content of the message has information not addressed in just the email subject line.

Any ideas on how to do this?

WDS does do that, least it used it. not used it recently since it doesn't have a x64 version

I tried Windows Desktop Search again, and it does appear to do what I want and what you said. This is great news!! I must have screwed something up before for it not to work.
