if you read my other post on the sp, there was no file fragmentation on my box from the sp install, I suppose this is because I had a nice block of free hardrive space anyway, after the defrag, I actually have more fragmentation, only slightly less fragmented free space, and lower disc performacne after a defrag then I had before lesson, sometimes you don't want to defrag your free space bizarre |

run an offline defrag, you'll speed things up a touch

yes that is normal for perfectdisk, as lord says tick the little box that says at boot, and restart your pc

lol... that does NOT look normal guys... He's spent 1.5hrs defragging and there's MORE file fragmentation than before.
But the offline (boot time) defrag does help speed up the system as already mentioned. |

you cant defrag system files in use or the mft or meta data - these can only be done off-line, once an off-line defrag has been done things will look better
