you can pop a floppy in the drive, goto my computer right clikc, choose format and make sure you use the copy system files option

Or you could just use the windows xp cd to serve as a boot disk instead of copying system files to A:\..I have done it a few times, so whatever is best for you.

You can boot straight from the windows xp CD and not bother with the boot CD's.
If you use this way it will give you the option of an upgrade (if an o/s is already present) or a fresh install. Don't be a nugget like I was and used a copied CD with the wrong volume name and wondered why it wouldn't auto boot : ) Good luck - let me know how you get on or if you need any further assistance. |
