Default Problems with IE 6 Crashing in Windows 2000
when i tried to open ie 6 in 2000 os error message displaying that iexplorer.exe has encountered error and will terminate the ie."if u r in middle of the program ur datas will be lost" this is another error.Then it has created error report and ask me to send an error report to microsoft to rectify this problem.The moment i click "dont send" then ie is closing automatically.

what might be the problem?

Without knowing the full details around the issue my first suggestion would be to re-install IE. You should still be able to get the download from the MS website, though I think they are pushing IE7 these days.
