Default Windows Media Server

Anyone managed to get a version that works under XP Pro?

I fiddled around on 2000 with the encoding stuff and server to feed audio around the house and office, can't get the server to install under XP though. Says I need WIn NT 4 server or above. I've managed to get IIS 5 running, which works without any problems.

Thanks in advance.

Have you found and answer to this? I was wondering the same thing? Truely it should not have worked with Win2K Pro either. Neither of them are servers. I wish that they would make this work, but I do not know of a way.

No such luck! Still hoping to find a solution though and if I do I'll post it here.

I hear ya. The only way that it is going to work is if a third party makes a server or when Win 2002 Sever comes out
