Default SP2 Removal

I hate our software vendors.... who makes stuff that doesn't support SP2 these days?

Anyways....

Is there anyway to remove SP2 on a system where sp2 was installed with xp and not through a windows update. There is a knowledge base article that gives steps but they don't seem to work and I think its cause sp2 came preinstalled. I'm not sure though, any ideas?

no if SP2 was intergrated with XP, it would be like trying to uninstall individual bits of XP. Either a fresh install with just sp1 or will just that...

Now we get to see if we have non-sp2 install disk around. If not ... Win2k. GREAT!

Thanks for all the help.

I think i have an xp disk with just sp1 on it if you'd like me to send it to you.

Disclaimer, of course you would need a legit XP key for it to work.

Thanks for the offer but we already put win2k on. We tore our vendor a new one and hopefully their next update will include sp2 support.
