I'm at a complete loss...
I formatted my x64 drive, partitioned it, and re-installed plain ol' 32bit xp pro. First problem I ran into was that my keyboard functioned within bios/dos and within the setup process of XP, but once xp finally was installed (within the final setup where you input the user names) it would not work. It's like it couldn't start the hardware. I restarted the machine and it went to the login screen with the administrator account but I couldn't type in my password because the keyboard did not function. Turned the machine off, swapped keyboards, restarted, and nothing.
Reformatted the drive, reinstalled xp, same problem. Only this time during setup I was smart enough not to put an administrator password so it started into windows.
I opened up device manager, and there's a yellow exclamation next to the keyboard (and just about everything else). Uninstalled the keyboard, and used the Add New Hardware to add it back in. The first time it said it could not be started: Code 19. The second time (after restart) it said nearly the same but gave me a code 39. The third time it worked like a charm.
All the other hardware I was able to use the update driver option and it found it on the mobo cd. Of course there's one exception...the nvidia network bus controller which it constantly says code 39 on and that it cannot start. I was just running x64 and before that xp pro so it's worked in the past.
Any thoughts as to what could be wrong? I'm going to try and reinstall one last time then I'm going to gigabyte. Would appreciate any and all advice.
