I find it very annoying that it shows if I have a new message on the welcome screen for my user account. For some it also is still showing that I have 1 new message for an e-mail account I deleted awhile back. Can anyone help!? :confused:

I had the same problem with my Hotmail account .. showed 16 mesages even though I had dumped them .. went back the next day to check and found they were still in the Hotmail trash can .. deleted them and had to wait another 48 hours before they finally stopped showing on my welcome screen in Win XP.
I think Hotmail does a sweep of the accounts and when the sweep is done, only then will they stop showing on the Win XP screen.

Yeah it's very annoying, other people who use my computer always wonder what e-mail I have and if were of any use it could atleast report the actual new mail I do have.

I found that if you turn off the "use outlook" option in MSM it takes care of this. Worked for me anyway.
