Hopefully I can explain this okay.
When I used to open up my mp3 folder - down the side it listed details ie: date/bitrate/ play all in media player / other tasks etc etc

Now its all gone :-( I just have one window

What happens when you hit your 'folders' or 'search' quick launch buttons?

Try going to view> choose details, too.

I've been trying to duplicate what you have. Can't figure it out :confused:

Does explorer open in one big window no matter where you open it to, or is it just your mp3 folder? If it's just the mp3 folder, open it somewhere else and go to tools> folder options, and apply the view from a 'good' view to all folders... maybe that will fix it.

first of make sure you havn't just pressed thefolders button
else
then tools->folder options and on general tab the top thing should be "tasks", make sure "show common tasks in folders" if ticked
