That started happening to me once in a while after I installed the second beta. Hopefully the next version will fix it. As a temporary fix, what you can do is double-click the MDS icon in the taskbar, and click the yellow information bar that says it's still in the process of starting up. Works for me everytime. I don't reboot much, so it doesn't really bother me anyway.

I tried the final version of GDS, but uninstalled it an hour later. Decision was easy - I definitely missed aliases too much, and I couldn't stand having search results come up in a stupid browser window.

Didn't have the patience to find a work around for it. I miss aliases, but it's something I can live without. I also kinda like the results showing up in a Firefox tab since when I'm on the computer, I usually have Firefox open.
