Default Catalyst 4.1 for ATi cards released

download from this link

http://www.ati.com/home/online/CatalystXPdriver.html

Terry apparently did a little covert ops here and released it unbeknownst

Wow, that was out of the blue.

Normally there is a ceramony before any kind of release.

We jumped from 3.10 to 4.1 ? I didn't hear anything about 4.0 ... did I miss something ?

word of caution

Significant performance loss is noticed in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. This issue is already resolved and a fix will be available in the next CATALYST™ driver release
so if like me you lot play a lot of ET... stick to the 3.10's

else get this set... it improves openGL performance a bit as well per the changelog...

I'd be cautious if I were you. I've heard this driver causes inexplicable rashes. It drank all my Ovaltine as well.

Been testing it out on a few games only Halo had a problem. All the working games looked GREAT on my Radeon 9800Pro.

Worked:
Max Payne 2
Call of Duty
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Unreal II

Didn't Work:
Halo - Crashed "Inexplicably"

My Computer crashes when I try to install it (Twice). Won't even boot into welcome screen, keeps restarting itself.

Had to go back to "Last Known Good Configuration"

Maybe it is because my FSB is O/C'ed? I am running @ 200 x 10
