If your college uses DHCP, you just have to choose to get config information from DHCP in your TCP/IP settings. Your best bet is to check your college's config webpages to see how you should have your networking set up. Some colleges also require laptop users to register the MAC address of their NIC before they can get an IP via DHCP. There will be information on those same pages if that is the case.
/L.A And per request, just so you understand this, you are not setting up a DHCP server. You are configuring your laptop as a DHCP client. |
