Default server 2003, have a read.

XP Server editions and later server versions, only the boot prefetch is enabled by default.

you need to enable application prefetch if you want

just a heads up I just found out about since I don't have a server version...carry on

I guess it's because application prefetching isn't all that necessary on a server system, which usually just sits there doing its thing.

Good tip though. You meant Server 2003 (by XP Server), didn't you?

Should probably rename the thread to something more fitting of the topic. I popped in expecting to read something about NT 3.1, NT4, or 2k Server not 2003. Rather interesting tidbit of information though.
