ok i have a question. when i go to bed i watgch tv shows on my monitor and fall alseep watching them. ok i want my monitor to turn off eventually to save on wear and teart and such.
i allready have power options enabled to turn it off after a hour. but lost fot ime i guess when media player is full screened even after the computer is doner playing the file it doesnt turn off..

any ideas.?

There's an option in WMP that prevents screensavers from running while you're playing videos. I don't know if that might prevent the monitor from turning off too, but it's a possibility.
Try going to Tools>Options and check the "Allow screensaver during playback" box.
