I occasionally get a "Delayed Write Failed" error when a hard drive (placed inside a mobile rack) is plugged into my PCI IDE card. The problem also occurs with other HDDs, not just my one. Suggestions? |

did you install the manufacturer's driver for the IDE card, or are you using a driver provided by windows?

I have installed the manufacturer's drivers (ST Lab / Silicon Image).

Try disabling the write cache under system manager - ide controllers. Not an explanation but it could get rid of the problem. The cache should work.
Or you could turn off "performance" under windows performance settings for the troublesome drive(s). That will kill caching also. |
