Question Advanced Micro Devices processor software update released on December 17 2002.
i keep getting this when i go to windowsupdate. is it something i really ought to download and install? i am running an amd athlon xp 1.53. should i install it?

If your system is running just fine you don't need to install patches unless they are for security vulnerabilites.

Some people have the AMD patch installed, some don't (I do have it). Nobody has had anything good or bad to say either way.

Flip a coin, if it lands on edge make a decision, if not put it off.

I'm unsure as to what it does, but I downloaded it and I seriously see no change in my performance.

So download it. Or don't. If your computer is running fine now, I wouldn't worry either way.
