Or try renaming it to .zip and open it with Winzip/rar, maybe it's just a file archive.

The screensaver may be made with stardust screensaver toolkit if so this is info from there site.

(The MSF file is a secure container file used for Screen Saver Toolkit 2.X images and audio. It is installed along with the screen saver engine, and can't be directly edited. To make changes to a screen saver, you must edit the original project file (SPF) in Screen Saver Toolkit 2.X.)

but this might help there is a 10 day free trial on the site.

So Not having the original project file.

I just thought it would be worth a shot to try the free trial to see if it
helped.

Post the link to the screensaver and maybe we can mess with it and see
what we can do. It's been a long time sense I tried something like that
so off the top of my head I'm not remembering much.

Have you tried to preview it in the trial software to see if you can take a
picture from it that way.

prodj88

Make one with the trial verson then name and save it. Then rename the one you want to edit to the name that you just gave the screensaver that you just made.

now see if it can be opened to edit. I think the name will be something like ??????.exe maybe

That screensaver is copyrighted so I can't do anymore than this but hope it helps.
Sorry
