Default cd to MP3 converter

I know there was an old thread about this, I can't find it.

I prefer it to be freeware.

WMP only does them to .wma files.

Look for Cdex at Sourceforce.net. I really like it, especially since Musicmatch was just starting to suck. I found this alternative, thanks to SpeedY_B and his cdex evangelism.

Purists might tout Exact Audio Copy as being the best. However, iTunes has a shallow learning curve compared to EAC.

Personally, I prefer EAC because it allows for finer control, but both will give you a good rip in the end.

You have SBLive - Use Creative Playcenter.

I like CDex, based on the LAME Encoder Engine. Its a freeware download

CDex is great, one download and ready to go, and all the Lame -alt -presets are there (ogg and Monkey's among others also).

Used to CDex until iTunes came along. Now iTunes does everything music-related for me.
