Try lowering the burning speed.

is it possible that the CD is copy-write protected & that is the reason i'm unable to copy CD to CD even though that is a nero option? WMP has an option to copy protect or not.
if that is the case does NERO have a similar option?

If it is copy protected and covered by DRM (digital rights management) WMP's latest versions support DRM and depending on the liscence terms you may be able to RIP the CD x number of times and make x number of backup copies. This process involves writing "serial number data" imbedded on the CD to your computer harddisk. If you loose the serial numbers you loose acess to the music. The original cd will still work.

The CD jacket should tell you if the CD is copy protected since copy protection violates the CD Standard, thus violating copyright laws... California had a nice little lawsuit about protected music CD's not being properly labeled. :-)

If the CD is protected you may be able to make a backup copy using CloneCD*. I will never buy a copyrighted CD until they offer me a replacement plan for damaged CD's so I don't know for sure.

I have not headr if Nero supports DRM yet. Or if they ever will.

*Note making backup copies is legal and recommended by all Computer Systems Experts. Distributing those copies or songs ripped form the CDs is a violation of US Copyright Law, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act and punishable by fines bigger than you want to think about.

Thought for the new millenium:

In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?

Make sure you check Finalize CD before you burn. When I didn't do that, I couldn't use it on CD players, and it said there were 99 tracks. It should work correctly if you finalize the CD.

Yip finalizing the cd is the best option - When you do finalize it, it makes a menu that the cd player can read so it knows what is on the cd, without this only cdr's can read the cd.. So finalizing the cd is a good option ..
