is it possible to put a password on a folder on an ftp server?

I have not used an FTP program with the ability to password-protect just a single folder. I haven't tried all the available apps though, so there could be one that does it. Do you want only certain people to be able to access the folder? If so, you could just create a password-protected account with that folder available there.
