Default HD formatting ?-need help
hello.i have a new WD 400JB hd.i used a win me bootdisk to fdisk the drive & format it.when i go to install xp pro, will i then be given the option to choose which filesystem i want for all partitions on my hd.ntfs or fat32.thnx for help

You need not nave bothered with the ME boot disk. XP does it all. Put it in & boot up. Have the cd rom to boot first in the bios.

How big is that drive??

hi hipster.thnx for reply.if that is the case,i have to go back in and delete the partitions correct?it is a 40gig drive

Nope it should be OK. You'll see when you boot up with the xp cd anyway what needs to be done. It should see the partitions you made.
