Default wake on lan?
i was looking thru an old mobo manual and i found that my old pc has the ability to "wake on lan". does this mean that i can turn it on thru my home network? if so, how can i do it? it also has a "boot from LAN first" but im guessing thats to load the OS or simliar thru the lan, right?

WAN - WAKE-ON-LAN, this is the computers ability to wake up from a standby, when some data is recieved into the network card i.e a ping from another computer,

It does not have the function of starting you pc, booting from LAN is when your computer will use a mobile operating system on a local server to boot

Correct, except it's WOL, not WAN (Wide Area Network)

Usually it uses a wire that connects from your network card to the motherboard to get it to work. Not all network cards have this feature.
