MSN chat had a unique ID code written into the registry as a part of chat control 4 software, even if you changed IP, email etc it still knew it was you. of course there was an easy way round it. you found the registry key deleted it, deleted chat control and reinstalled.
Then they got smarter and encrypted the registry key a few updates later. then you have chat scanner software to monitor the room your in, and that will bar an ip for 24hrs, or the bot i used to use did. |
