See how you go with this>
open regedit and find the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08 -00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder. Select this, on the right there's a binary value called Attributes. Rightclick it, 'modify'. Instead of 40 01 00 20 it should read 50 01 00 20 to have a 'rename' option. In XP, you'll also need to edit the dword string called "CallForAttributes" there. Set it to 0x00000000 (0) |

Simple way in XP (same as Hipster Doofus, but less typing):
Copy and paste this into a .txt file... -------------------------------------------------------- Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder] "Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20 "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000 -------------------------------------------------------- (don't copy dashed lines, just whats between) Rename the .txt file to .reg - double click the file, add the info to your registry. Easy as pie. Disclaimer:NTFS, myself, and anyone that's ever even looked or heard about this forum is not responsible for you screwing up your registry or your OS. Always back up your registry before changing it and be familiar with how to restore it. |
