Anyone know why new XP drivers are available to the Athlon XP range of processors on the MS update site?

Anybody know what diff it makes or made?

ASUS PN5-E SLI,Intel E8400,2 x 8800GTX 768mb SLI,ASUS VW266H 26 inch LCD, 8 GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer, Silverstone Strider 850watt PSU.Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Maybe it is to support the newer processors like the 3000+?

I installed it. I notice no real difference.

I don't even have that option......what is the name so I can look it up on the Catalog? Or maybe a link somewhere on the bulletin?

here thats what it was ..... and I dont see a diff either and yes most likley its for the new CPU's that are starting to surface

my old t bird 950 also triggered the update recognition.

it's not concievable to me the update is intended for the new chips, as the new ones would be easy to distinguish from the old.

I'm guessing it's some processor immprovement that amd came up with

True .. and my Athlon 1800+ is by no means one of the NEW cpu's either way did not hurt my rig at all ... just was wondering if anyone saw or knew what it was spose to do....
